Bitter Wind 02:23
Do you close your eyes when you kiss me Gently shut with trust? Or do you look me in the face, like When you lie to me As you sometimes feel you must? Do you close your eyes when you kiss me Gently shut with trust? I had to worship a bitter wind, babe One you wrapped around my heart Had to learn to let go, love myself for a while Before any lovin’ gonna start I learned my lesson well, babe Learned it through and through Eyes open or shut now, babe Hope the same is true for you.

Make Me Feel 06:02
You can make me feel like I do When you want me to You can make me feel like a fool But you never do Girl, you make me climb all the mountains And swim all the seas But I knew, I knew, I knew that you would Run to me and come around Girl, now you’re here by my side and You’re part of me And I know, I know, I know that you would Never ever let me down The sunlight in your hair The moonlight in your eyes All the love we share Tonight

Lose My Mind 05:22
I am slowly gonna lose my mind Crawl out of my skin and slow down time 'Cause when I look around at the world It's gonna be a better day So come with me let's step outside our lives Got no answer, just gonna ride this vibe Got to follow this where it goes 'Cause I feel this is the way And... Chorus: A freedom born of honesty is the ultimate revelation And freedom from your pain and fear is the only real sensation Look inside, you know it's true The answer is inside of you So come along Floating now, the separateness falls away Stark simplicity viewed by the light of day My senses reel with these assertions I can see I was mistaken Somewhere in-between the name and the thing Lies a vibrancy, can you hear it sing? I feel reality coursing through my veins And I am awakened You see... Chorus Hailing the return of the child mind The dissolution of myself entwined In the end of my striving The moment of ignorance is past No deception, and no derision Faced with the foolishness of all divisions So I've come to where I began It's the end of becoming at last For now I truly know that... Chorus

If you've got the time to be taken with me I'll give you what you need, baby make you feel free Stop on a dime, you can run so far and free Then lose hold of the count and jump from one to three Chorus: Free me from my Baltic Dungeon They locked me up and they threw away the key Help me escape from this Baltic Dungeon Or I'll waste away my life here for an eternity Pay no mind to where you want to be When you're livin' in real time it's continuity Looked so damn fine when she gave herself to me And the next thing we tried was three times twenty-three Chorus Botrytised wine tastes so mighty sublime Grape and fungus is so fine -- Bacchanalian rhyme! See I was so very blind, always counted my time Then I made that climb -- see, I knew the sun could shine Chorus If you've got the time to be takin' with me I'll give you what you need, baby make you feel free Pay no mind to where you want to be When you're livin' in real time it's continuity

I was out gently musing Just the other day With the muse du jour "Where have all my heroes gone? Have they gone away? The world seems a little poor…" Well she looked at me and smiled And laid her hands upon my thigh "Don't you worry little boy You're gonna' miss our noon goodbye" Chorus: Did you spill the wine? Did you drink the girl? Did you spill the wine? Did you drink the girl? I was out gently musing Just the other day With a different muse du jour "When a hurricane meets a hurricane Do they blow each other out? Or do they make a little love... Create a water spout?" Well she look at me and smiled And laid her hands upon my thigh "Don't you worry little boy You're gonna' miss our noon goodbye" Chorus

Some senseless act of beauty Knocking at your heart's door And you wish that you could open But your heart, your heart Is too damn sore There was a place, and there was a time You had your hopes and your dreams and your life But all of that changed one night And you wish, and you wish, and you wish That you could feel Pain that sneaks around in your room Whenever she's around And you thought you had the answers But your were just too young, your feet not on the ground There was a place, and there was a time When all that you thought was of your lonely life Pray that it changed one night And you wish, and you wish, and you wish That you could feel Chorus: Time to fly, no time to run away You got to tear this wall down, the world's outside the line Before it's too late Yeah, you'll find another way You've got to pay the piper You know he'll raise his rates And you'll travel down this lonely road forever Beneath this fertile crescent moon Like the trample of weary feet Across your worn out soul An emptiness that surrounds your heart Hidden by your smiles while you play the role There was a place, and there was a time When you first felt your heart and your soul start to die Watched the stars one night And you wish, and you wish, and you wish That you could feel Chorus

If You Relax 05:23
Priest in a Cadillac, don't look back God riding shotgun, Beelzebub in the back They're each taking money they'll never give back From a crazy old man livin' in his shack The old man know what these boys lack If you relax, you can groove Jack!

Arabic Ska 02:46
Have a falafel, they only are two... Have a falafel, they only are two dollars

Fear of Love 07:17
Who put this fear of love Knowin' what I'm knowin' Into my head? Knowin' where I'm goin' Who put this fear of love Knowin' that I'm bein' Into my head? Knowin' what I'm doin' Who put this fear of life Knowin' what I'm knowin' Into my head? Knowin' where I'm goin' Who put this fear of life Knowin' that I'm bein' Into my head? Knowin' what I'm doin' Knowin' what I'm knowin' Knowin' where I'm goin' Knowin' that I'm bein' Who put this love of life Knowin' what I'm knowin' Into my head? Knowin' where I'm goin' Who put this love of life Knowin' that I'm bein' Into my head? Knowin' what I'm doin'

Sat down one midnight’s eve I wrote that song that you begged me to write Sweeter words and chords, I’d never seen Kept me going all through the night But when I woke up that fateful next day I saw a sight and I started to pray Your song in tatters all my work in vane And that black and white monster just purring away Chorus The cat ate your song The cat ate your song Spent the whole day going through the pain Putting all the pieces of your song so chewed Had no luck, I ran out of tape Could not fix the damage of ‘you know who’ Next time I get a song to write About you sweetie, so late in the night I’ll make certain before I turn out the light That the song eating menace is locked up tight Chorus Don’t know why she decided to chew My perfect song that I wrote for you Maybe next time when you’re in my room You’ll be more careful before you move Chorus

That's All 03:04
She was kinda pretty, in a fairly kinda way And that’s all… …I got to say And she was kinda happy, in a go-lucky kinda way Mmmmm… …a happy kinda way And she’s not rockin’ no boat, she’s just jumpin’ ship She gets tired… …of my shit. She comes in and out my life, on and off the page In a… …happy kinda way Chorus Its just that sometimes she gets a little… …tired And sometimes I would get a little bit… …tired And sometimes she would get a little bit… …tired Sometimes we all get a little bit… ..tired I am fairly handsome, in a kinda, kinda way And that’s all… …I got to say And I’ve been kinda lucky, in a happy kinda way Mmmmm… …a happy kinda way And I’m not rockin’ no boat, I’m just jumpin’ ship I gets tired… …of this shit. I comes in and out her life, on and off the frame In a… …happy kinda way Chorus

about

Funky guitar licks, well-timed hooks, and quirky, Zappa-inspired lyrics stand out during the first listen of Summers in Rangoon. A second time through yields a more sophisticated and subtle result. Tempo changes, increasingly complex arrangements, and lengthy instrumental sections draw comparisons to the Allman Brothers and Mothers Milk-era Red Hot Chili Peppers. Recorded in a marathon five-day session, the record takes on the feel of a polished, live concert. Highlights include the swamp-funk anthem "Lose My Mind" and "Arabic Ska" (a surprising ska piece that epitomizes Soul Patch's penchant for risk-taking).
